I just got the results from the Saturday Austin Healey organised day and yellow Wedge came 8th inmy class. You missed the All Triumph Races at Wakefield Park last weekend !!!!!!!! I think some judicious use of a testing light / continuity light on the 5 prong plug will tell you if the column switch is doing its job and if so whether the power is getting to the wiper motor. I am guessing the 5 prong plug you refer to is the one under the steering column ! ?

I would start at the wiper motor to check for power and then back to the wiper switch etc which I reckon you have already done. They either work or not! Well I read somewhere that they are the same motor but could be wrong The wiper motor is the same or very similar to the headlight pod drive motor. Oh well.ġ980 Platinum Metallic TR8, frame off restoration, complete.ġ980 Vermilion TR7 16V Sprint replica, passed emissions. I suspect that having my wiper motor rewound would have been a better option. Haven't had it long enough to see how well it holds up. In that case it was less expensive to simply buy a new one from Moss, although the replacement was made in India. I think if you can find an automotive electrical shop in the area they would easily be able to do it for you.Īny chance you blew a fuse? When my wiper motor died, it shorted a winding and I could not keep a fuse in it. I have had my alternators, starters, and other small motors rebuilt for around $100 US. They are all over the place, any small to medium size town will have one.

In the US I would send you to a local automotive electric shop. The car is pretty close to finished and I am keen to get on the road. Can anyone recommend someone to do a good reconditioning job (even in the UK or US)? Rimmer Bros do an exchange, but mine is now ceramic coated and matches the other bits in the engine bay so I don't want to swap it. If the electrics are OK, then it probably time to have the motor reconditioned. Can anyone tell me if the electrics sound right?
TRIUMPH TR3A WIPER MOTOR MANUAL
Can't find anyhting in the manual about this. There is about 9.5V arriving at the two pins furthest from the earth and nothing at the other two. There is a 5-pin plug, with the earth by itself and the other pins arranged 2x2. Put it all back together, minus the wiper arms, and the ferruls(?) the arms attached to weren't moving.
